Serbian superstar Novak Djokovic is considerably one of the greatest tennis players in history. Notably, he has been performing tremendously and won 18 Grand Slam titles since 2011. However, Serb hopes that he can play with high intensity for many years.
“My Lifestyle That Helps Me To Have Longevity”, says Novak Djokovic
World No.1 Djokovic is best known for his healthy diet and lifestyle in the sports world. At the age of 34, he expands his body like a spider-man and tries new and different things in every match.
However, now Serbian is searching for his 20th Grand Slam title at Wimbledon 2021. Therein an interview, he was asked about his future.
“Age is just a number. That’s really how I see it, the approach that I’m having. I don’t really think about how many years I have been on the Tour. It’s all about perception,” Novak Djokovic said after his second-round match against Kevin Anderson at SW19.
Djokovic often visits sacred places to meet monks, does yoga and mediation, and turns pages of the holy book Bible to synchronise his body and mind. For these reasons, Novak may believe that his body and mind would help him extend his tennis career for a long time.
Six-time year-end World No.1 player continued, “I really believe that a lot of things health-wise, or just in general about life, starts from your mind. Mind over matter type of thing.”
“I feel like I’m also learning new things about myself on and off the court. I’m trying to implement different elements in my game and also in my lifestyle that helps me to have longevity because I want to keep going,” Djokovic added.
Djokovic eventually emphasised that he does not know how long he can play in the ATP Tour. But he wants to play as much as he can. “I don’t have any end in mind about how many more years I want to play. As long as I feel that desire, as long as I’m fit, I’ll keep on going,” Nole concluded.
