Dominic Thiem began his grass-court swing at the Mallorca Championships 2021. But he suffered a right wrist injury during the opening match against French Adrian Mannarino. As a result, Austria stalwart has announced his withdrawal from Wimbledon Championships 2021.
“I’m going to do everything the doctors say to recover as quickly as possible. They’ve informed me that I might be out for several weeks, but I will do my best to be back on the court soon,” Dominic Thiem noted on his Twitter post.
Austrian continued, “I am really sorry for pulling out of the upcoming three tournaments I had on my calendar: Wimbledon, Hamburg, and Gstaad. They are very important tournaments for me. I appreciate the support from fans in these difficult moments – I’m determined to come back stronger.”
According to Thiem’s withdrawals, he may resume his action during the US Open swing, which begins on 26th July in Atlanta.
