Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, one of the big three in the men’s tennis world, is a source of inspiration for the next generation. However, American rising tennis star Sebastian Korda said that he always admired the 34-years-old Spaniard the most out of any other tennis player in the world.
A 20-years-old Son of former Czech tennis player Petr Korda kicked off 2021 season at Delray Beach Open, where he reached his first ATP Finals. Followed by, Korda has now claimed the title at Challenger Tour event in Quimper, France.

Korda fulfilled one of his dreams when he competed against his idol Rafael Nadal at the fourth round of French Open in Philippe Chatrier last year.
“I always said ever since I was a little kid; I always admired Nadal the most out of any other tennis player. And I always said that my dream match would be to play Rafa on (Court Philippe) Chatrier,” the World No.88 said in a recent interview.
Sebastian Korda received an autographed shirt from his opponent none other than his idol and eventual champion Rafael Nadal after a straight-set loss at Roland Garros.
Korda continued, “To have it happen was an incredible moment and I didn’t want to lose an opportunity for asking for a shirt and for a signature and just to thank him for inspiring me and so many other little kids around the world to play the great game of tennis. I have the shirt hanging up in my room. It’s a moment I’ll cherish forever.”
While Rafael Nadal is confident ahead of the Australian Open 2021, Sebastian Korda skipped this year Down Under Grand Slam event.
