The secret of happiness is helping others. Roger Federer and his wife Mirka donated 1 million francs to support people who have affected by the Coronavirus.

While fans have several reasons to like Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer is a well-known person for generous nature in the sports world.

Former World No.1 founded the Roger Federer Foundation in 2003 and has invested over 28.5 million in educational programs in Africa and Switzerland, reaching out to 650,000 children.

Federer, however, wrote that he and his wife donate 1 million francs on his Instagram post in the middle of lockdown, “These are challenging times for all of us, and no one should be left behind. Mirka and I have decided to personally donate one million Swiss francs to the most vulnerable families in Switzerland.” (quotes translated into English via Google translator).

The most significant private person donation has been distributed through Winterhilfe, a long time partner of Roger Federer’s foundation.

“833,000 Francs Of The Tennis Maestro’s Donation Had Been Spent”: Winterhilfe

Winter Relief Organisation(Winterhifle) has been feeding thousands of people in Switzerland since the beginning of the Coronavirus crisis.

A public foundation also explained how Federer’s donation had been utilised around Switzerland, “As soon as Corona reached Ticino, we heard of empty accounts and refrigerators and immediately set up projects for those economically affected by the pandemic. We pay the most urgent bills and give out food vouchers.

According to their records by 31st October, Winterhilfe has been spent 833,000 francs of Roger Federer’s contribution to his country. 

Winterhifle has now reported how many people have received benefits from 20-time Grand Slam champion donation. 

Relief organization was set up to support 7774 people in need. On the other hand, they have helped 3481 adults and 3993 children so far.
