Spanish rising star Carlos Alcaraz claimed his first win against the former World No.1 Andy Murray. Moreover, the NextGen dispatched the three-time Grand Slam champion in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) in the second round of Vienna Open 2021

Most importantly, the Spaniard levelled the Scot(1-1) in their head-to-head series. Nevertheless, Carlos Alcaraz was delighted with his accomplishment against Andy Murray.

“For me, it’s a great feeling to play against Andy Murray and to be able to beat him. I played really, really well and I’m just really happy with the performance today,” Alcaraz said in his post-match interview.

Earlier in the first meeting, Carlos fell to Murray in the three-set(7-5, 3-6, 2-6) at the Indian Well Masters 2021.

“Indian Wells was the first time that I met Andy Murray on the court and now I knew a little bit more (about) Andy Murray, so I just knew his game, how to play. I was just trying to be aggressive, not let him play his game,” the 18-year -old added.

At the quarterfinals, Carlos Alcaraz will lock horns with No.3 seed and Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini
