“Biggest Challenge”- Victoria Azarenka Talks Ahead of Serena Williams clash at US Open 2020

The US Open 2020 has reached the last four stage in Flushing Meadows. While Former world number one players Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka look to seal their place in the event finals, besides, the fans get excited about the upcoming old rivals semifinals match.  

In the quarterfinals, The unseeded Azarenka easily overcame the 16 seeded Elise Mertens in the straight sets(6-1, 6-0). On the other hand, the third-seeded Serena Williams recovered after losing a set against the unranked Tsvetana Pironkova.

Moreover, two-times Grand Slam Champion will now play the 23 times Grand Slam winner in the US Open 2020 finals decider on Thursday(10th August).

Additionally, two times US Open finalist Victoria Azarenka said about her upcoming match against Serena Williams on Wednesday, “We always played on big stages.” 

She also added, “It was a lot of big fights. She’s one of the players who push me to the limit, who makes me better. I’m excited about that. It’s been a while since we played. I think the last time was, what is it, Indian Wells. I think we both were not really playing well at that time.”

While the Mothers will competing for each other 24 times in their professional careers, Serena Williams leads Victoria Azarenka in head to head(19-4). Additionally, The American defeated Belarusian in the straight sets at the last meeting in the 2019 BNP Paribas Open.
