World number three Dominic Thiem has fulfilled his dream of winning a Grand Slam title at the US Open last month, while Austrian is now playing at the French Open with intends to hunt his second one. After a third consecutive straight-set victory, Dominic Thiem reserved his place in the round of 16 on Friday.
Whereas the new Grand Slam winner is one of the favorites to win the title at Roland Garros, the former world number two player Àlex Corretja foresees beating Thiem will be difficult this year.
Besides, 12 times event Champion Rafael Nadal has raised concerns over Paris weather as long as Thiem has expressed he loves those conditions.

Eurosport commentator continued, “I love this type of game, this tennis. The first set was complicated, it was difficult for Thiem to win the moment and the pace, but Dominic looks unbelievable. It is almost impossible to hurt his game, and he has the most difficult position in the main favorites.”
The third-seeded Thiem will play host Hugo Gaston in his fourth-round match on Sunday. The twenty years old Frenchman upset 2015 champion Stan Wawrinka in his fixture. And also, the US Open 2020 winner might meet defending champion Rafael Nadal before reaching the finals at Roland Garros this year.
