Iga Swiatek, in her conversation with BBC Sports, said, ”Basically, I was in shock for the next three days’‘ following her unexpected win at the Roland Garros. However, she also mentioned that “I’m doing pretty well, but if I’m going to have any problems, then Naomi (Osaka) texted me that I can always ask her for advice or support. We had a quick chat on social media right after the final. I feel like I am supported, so it is great.”
Speaking about the dream, the Polish star said, “I always wanted to win Grand Slams and Olympic medals. However, all of this seemed like a distant dream.”
But, now that she has already won one of the Grand Slams, Iga Swiatek believes that now the dream is closer than before. She added that while all of this is pretty overwhelming, “It is one of the things that I worked for.”
