Novak Djokovic has been going through one of the best seasons in his career right now. While Serb has won four titles to date, he lost just one match in the entire season. However, Djokovic is confident of finishing the ongoing season as a world number one in the world.
After the French Open 2020, world number one will play in the Vienna ATP event, which begins on 26th October. He received a wild card for this event a few days ago. And while Serbian returns to Austria after 15 years, he plans to play at London Masters as well.
Additionally, Nole expressed, “I haven’t played in Vienna for 15 years, so I’m happy about that.” Other than Djokovic, the host Dominic Thiem, Stefonas Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev, Diego Schwartzman, Andrey Rublev, and others will compete for 500 points on the hard courts.
“I Will Finish It As World Number One”: Novak Djokovic
Serb has already finished as world number one in five times by the end of the year. On the other hand, if Djokovic would finish this year, he would overcome Federer and Nadal in this record. Currently, the big three are equal in the year-end ranking record, five times.
Whereas Novak is now listed top in the ATP ranking table, Serbian holds 1890 points lead over the second-ranked Spaniard. He continued, “This season, which was very intermittent, different and weird, at the same time brought me a lot of success, and I’m very satisfied with my game, points, ranking.”
“I hope that, after the month and a half that’s left in this season, I will finish it as world number one. That’s my professional goal, and I’m going to work on it. It’s mostly up to me.” Djokovic concluded.
