Rafael Nadal recently revealed that he has been in touch with Federer and talked lately. Federer has been off the court for a long time now, owing to his knee injury.
It has been almost a year since the 39-year-old has been seen playing on the court, as he continues his rehabilitation. However, Nadal, who claims to be in touch with Roger, is confident of the Swiss’ return.
While speaking to David Broncano for the latter’s show titled ‘La resistance,’ Nadal seemed optimistic about Federer’s strong comeback
Nadal revealed that the two are interacting frequently these days and discuss a number of things. The duo talks about other tennis players, tips, and advice they get from other pros, and a number of other important situations. He also threw light on the fact that these are difficult times. And the need for a solution as soon as possible.
“These days we often hear from each other, obviously we discuss the tennis players’ advice and in general about important situations. The situation today is very difficult, we have to find a solution given the current times and I have to say that lately, we have been talking regularly.”, the Mallorcan continued.
“I Don’t Know How I am [going to do], Let Alone (Federer)”: Nadal
Federer has started to train again and Nadal is quite confident about his comeback in 2021, looking at his progress. “I see that he is already training and I think he will come back quite well.” the Spaniard said.
Nadal was also asked about his opinion on the expected course of Federer’s career. To this, the Spaniard replied by saying that nobody can predict the length of his career. Moreover, he went on to say that it was difficult for him to predict his own career as well. Hence, doing so for Federer was impossible.
“How far can it go? Well, you can’t know and I don’t think anyone can. I don’t know how I am [going to do], let alone [Federer].”, Nadal concluded.
