“In My Dreams, Too”: Alexander Zverev Recalls His US Open 2020 Finals Memories Every Day 20-25 Times

Last week during the French Open, 19-year-old Jannik Sinner defeated World No. 07 Alexander Zverev in the fourth round. He is all set to debut tomorrow in Cologne. However, after his early exit from Roland Garros this year, he claimed that he was not very well health-wise.

German player Zverev will play on his home grounds in Cologne now. Moreover, during the pre-match press conference, he expressed his trauma towards the dramatic fifth set he played against Dominic Thiem during the US Open 2020 finals.

He also explained how the flashbacks haunt him for real. It was one of Sascha’s career’s most critical decision sets, and its conclusion left him in shambles.

However, now, he is physically in perfect shape to play and has also recovered from his fitness issues after he came back from Paris. After all the necessary tests were done, he was tested negative for COVID-19 as well.

I feel better. I am still a little tired. I did not drain until I arrived in Cologne at the weekend. It was a normal cold. This also happens during a pandemic. People misunderstood that a bit. All tests were negative, and I am in top form.” he continued.

Further, when he was asked about his thought on the upcoming season, he said, “For me, the season is just beginning.”
