“It Is My First Tournament”- Rafael Nadal Announces Great News For Tennis Fans

Defending Champion Rafael Nadal skipped this year’s US Open by reason of health risks. However, Spaniard made an amazing announcement ahead of the French Open series. 

World number two Nadal will end his seven months of tennis tours lay-off at the Rome Masters in Italy next week. Additionally, The clay-court tournament will take place from 14th September to 21st September.

Furthermore, Nada has expressed his happiness for returning to the court after several months of hiatus. Additionally, the defending champion went on to say, “Foro Italico has always been a special place for me, and this year especially because it is my first tournament after a long break.”  the 34-years-old has created a record by winning nine titles in the Italian Open.

In 2019, Nadal lifted the Rome Masters title after defeating his rival Novak Djokovic in the three sets(6-0, 4-6, 6-1).

According to the reports, One of the reasons Rafael Nadal did not participate in the New York major is he looks for his 13th title at Roland Garros.

As of now, the Spanish tennis star Nadal has created a record by winning 12 titles in the French Open. Moreover, he can extend the victory record after winning his 13th title in a single Grand Slam tournament.

Besides, If he wins a title at the upcoming Roland Garros, Nadal can level the Roger Federer’s Grand Slam record of 20 titles, which is the most by a male player in history. Notably, Swiss Maestro Federer has skipped this year’s US Open and French Open due to injury.

The French Open 2020 will take place from 27th September to 11th October in Paris. Moreover, FFT officials have confirmed the tournament will be played with several spectators(11,500 visitors per day).
