“It Is Really Motivating to Step Outside” – Naomi Osaka Appreciates Andy Murray and Her Compatriot Nishioka

Naomi Osaka had all praise for Andy Murray after his epic comeback against Yoshihito Nishioka at the Flushing Meadows. Additionally, Osaka also won her match against Camila Giorgi by beating her 6-1 6-2 in what was a one-sided match.

After the match, Osaka shared, “For me, it is very inspiring. Yesterday I watched Murray play Nishioka. That was really fun. And they both played so well. Both of them are in my top five favorite players. So I was really sad that they had to play against each other. It is really motivating to step outside and see really good tennis at your front door.”

Osaka, who has always been voicing against social issues like racism, wore a mask with the victim’s name in the last match.

Talking about this, she said, “People watch tennis all around the world. And names we think are common are probably not common overseas. I just want people to have more knowledge.”

Additionally, Osaka added, “I feel like the platform I have right now is something I used to take for granted. And I feel like I should be using it for something.”

Osaka Had It Easy Against Giorgi

About the match, it was very one-sided in favor of Naomi. She had it very easy in the first set winning it by 6-1.

While in the second set, Giorgi did try to put up a fight with some backhand winners, however, Osaka had the game in her hands and finally managed to win the second set by 6-2, eventually winning the match.

Osaka will find herself playing against Marta Kotsyuk. Additionally, Kotsyuk is one of the talented players in the WTA circuit.

The Ukrainian, who is just eighteen now defeated Anastasija Sevastova in her previous match by 6-3 7-6 (5).
