The Tokyo Olympic Games were originally to take place in 2020, starting from 24th July. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Tokyo Olympics are now going to take place in 2021. But that does not make anybody less excited for the games!
One of the participants, Bianca Andreescu excited to be a part of the Canada Toyko Olympics team. She became the first Canadian tennis player to win a Grand Slam Singles Title. Moreover, Bianca is the second player to win a Grand Slam singles title as a teenager after Maria Sharapova. She won the 2019 US Open at the young age of 19.
“While the Olympics didn’t go as planned this year, I’m extremely excited to be able to compete in Tokyo next year. I know that so much went into rescheduling and I’m grateful for those who are working tirelessly to keep us safe and to make the Olympics happen. It’s always an honor to represent Canada and I’m looking forward to doing that on the world’s biggest stage in sports.” the 20-year-old said expressing how thankful and excited she is to be a part of the games.

It is unfortunate for Sofia Kenin can’t play at the Olympics this year when she was in her best form. However, the American star is still hopeful and excited for the tournament next year.
“I really am looking forward to Tokyo next year,” Australian Open Champion Kenin said. “It would be incredible to represent my country and to be a part of the Olympics. It would be a great honor for me to be a part of it. I’ve heard Tokyo is beautiful and I’ve always wanted to go there so I’m really looking forward to it.”
“I really hope that all the athletes from all over the world would be able to travel and be able to participate in the Olympics.”, the world number four concluded.
As sad as it is for everybody to wait another year for the World Games, it remains one of the most awaited and important events of all time!
