This year the US Open and French Open is taking place within a narrow time frame due to pandemic. For this reason, a bunch of top players skipped this year’s New York major event, and some of them might have a plan to play on both events. However, Garbine Muguruza admitted It’s complicated to make the right schedule.
Former World No.01 Muguruza made her comeback at US Open after tennis tours lay-off. But, the Spanish woman was defeated by Tsvetana Pironkova who returned to the tennis court after three years. Moreover, two-times Grand Slam Champion lost her second-round match in the straight sets as well.

While Defending Champion Rafael Nadal skipped this year’s US Open due to health concerns, world No.16 Garbine Muguruza was asked about her countryman decision in post-match interview.
2016 Roland Garros title winner Muguruza said, “I think it’s complicated to make the right schedule. I mean, is true that some people like to prioritize some surfaces. It’s totally understandable. It’s true that having two Grand Slams in a row, two very different surfaces, it’s tricky.”
Additionally, She went on to say about her this year’s US Open participation, “I can only speak about myself. Yes, it was a little bit of a rush decision. I wanted to know also where I am in terms of competition. It was just a kind of the first test.”
The clay-court Grand Slam French Open 2020 main draw will begin on 27th September in Paris. World No.02 Rafael Nadal eyes on his 13th title and he began the preparation as well. Besides, Muguruza also will try to win the title once again!
