Novak Djokovic has been playing excellent tennis for a long time now. And the Serb has been able to motivate the youngsters and his rivals on the tennis court. The world number one arrived at the Roland Garros after successfully winning the Italian Open 2020 at Rome. 

Dominic Thiem, the US Open 2020 title winner, expressed how Djokovic has always inspired him to perform well. Additionally, Thiem a tough second-round win, with him close to losing in the third set of the match. 

However, due to some mistakes from the opponent and some fair play, Thiem crosses the line. But it would not be easy for the Austrian with some tough matches coming ahead. He will play Casper Ruud in the third round of the French Open.

In the press conference after the match, Thiem said, “ I am inspired by Novak Djokovic, he is incredible on the decisive games. He tries to avoid easy mistakes to make during those tie-breaks. I am focusing more, even more than in a normal round, so as not to make any silly mistakes. This is where it’s really important because the tie-break is always very close.”

Additionally, Thiem will be looking to perform better and try to win the tournament. Moreover, Thiem, who thinks of Federer as a tennis legend, wants to protect his 20 Grand Slam titles. And to safeguard his record, Thiem will try to inspire himself and remain focus on the tournament. 

After a tough second-round match, Thiem would be ready to come to the court again and give his best in the upcoming games. The US Open winner wishes to win the tournament for himself. But at the same time, also to make sure that Roger Federer’s record remains intact.
