The International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), and Worldwide Olympic Partner Airbnb are organizing a five-day online summer festival, involving more than 100 Olympians and Paralympians from around the world sharing their personal experiences. Furthermore, The event will anchor by some of the finest athletes and is going to commence from July 24, 2020.
Giving us a glimpse into their quarantine training will be Naomi Osaka, the former world number one in singles tennis from Japan and Sania Mirza, former world number one in doubles tennis, from India along with a sprinter Zhenye Xie (athletics, China) on the 28th of July 2020.
Moreover, Mirza was given the title of India’s number one tennis player throughout her career and is a six-time grand slam champion, Whereas the Japanese tennis star is the first Asian woman to hold rank One in singles tennis!
“The Olympic Games bring the whole world together and, whilst we will all have to wait one more year to celebrate in Tokyo, the Olympic flame continues to be the light at the end of the dark tunnel humankind is currently going through,” said IOC President Thomas Bach. As the Tokyo Olympics games will now take place in 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic.

“Paralympians and Para athletes are masters of innovation and finding creative solutions to daily challenges they face,” said IPC President Andrew Parsons.
“The summer festival of Olympian and Paralympian Online Experiences celebrates this tenacity and gives Para athletes a platform to share their stories to empower others, while also offering a new earning opportunity especially needed during these difficult times,” President added.
