While world number one Novak Djokovic was the favorite at this year’s US Open, he was disqualified from the mid of the event after he unintentionally hit the line judge by a spare ball. However, Serbian sends greeting to event finalists Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev.
Djokovic began his tennis tour via Western and Southern Open 2020 followed by the pandemic lay-off. Additionally, he won his 35th Masters title and tied Rafael Nadal’s master’s record on the same.
With a winning streak 23-0 in the 2020 season, Novak Djokovic entered into the US Open 2020 as top-seeded. The 33-years-old reached the round of 16 after defeating Damir Džumhur, Kyle Edmund, Jan-LennardStruff in his fixture.
At the round of 16, Djokovic was faced with Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta in the Arthur Ashe Stadium last week. During the first set, he hit a spare out of the court that was directly striked a line judge throat. After several discussions, he was disqualified from the US Open 2020 where he had a chance to win his 18th Grand Slam title.

While Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev reached the US Open finals straightaway with the help of Djokovic’s disqualification, besides, Austrian became a Grand Slam after defeating German in a tight match(2-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6) in Flushing Meadows on Sunday.
However, 17-times Grand Slam Champion Novak Djokovic has sent a greeting to US Open 2020 finals winner and loser through his twitter handle on Monday.
