“Very Satisfied”: Dominic Thiem Happy With His Performance At French Open 2020

After an alluring win of Dominic Thiem in the third round of the French Open, on Friday, against Casper Ruud with a 6-4, 6-3, 6-1, he was pleased with his performance and claimed it to be one of the best performances he had given this year.

Thiem commented that his opponent, Casper Ruud, played well initially and continued it till the end. If he had continued playing with the same efficiency, he would have performed better, especially at the Roland Garros Tournament. The weather conditions had favored him better. Another year could serve as a possibility of him coming up with flying colors.

The world number three was not satisfied with his performance in the last four games as he says they weren’t good enough as the rest of the games. His constant dedication and hard work had led him to come so far.

He was fortunate enough to increase his level and perform satisfactorily well. Thiem said, “I think he played well from start to finish actually. I increased my level. Maybe the first four games weren’t as good as the rest of the game for me.”

Moreover, Thiem also added, “in any case, he plays very well especially on clay, surely one of the best this season. If we give him another year, I believe he will be extremely dangerous, especially here at Roland Garros. These slow, wet conditions suited me better than him. Overall, I was very satisfied with my performance, one of the best this year.”

In the second week of Roland Garros 2020, the famous surnames’ saga dates back to Sebastien Korda, World No. 213, taking Rudd’s baton. Korda won the qualifier battle against Spain’s Petro Martinez on Friday, 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 in a rain-interrupted affair.
