Stefanos Tsitsipas, who is reigning at the ATP tour finals, admits he is now not concentrating on defending his London title this year. And also, Stefanos reveals that he was tried new things in his play during the United States and Italy events.
In the recent press conference ahead of the Austria ATP Tour, Tsitsipas expressed his joy for participation and game changes. World No.05 said, “It was a period when I was trying new things. I just tried these new things during the US Open and Rome. Then I went back to my old habits and started to feel more comfortable and confident on the court after that.”
Stefanos also stated he had changed a lot of things since winning the title at ATP Finals. While Tsitsipas thinks he has grown up and faced hardship on and off the courts, he learned too many lessons from them as well. Stef continued, “since then, I have had many games, but not as many as I expected due to COVID.”
Speaking about the Vienna Open, he added, “I would like to win the title here and play tennis well. I feel happy when I see myself playing good tennis.”
“Concentrating On This Week And Then The Next In Bercy”: Stefanos Tsitsipas
Even though Tsitsipas has confirmed his place in this year’s ATP Finals, he focuses on the present moment and ongoing tournaments. He has also worried about playing matches without fans. On the other hand, he is confident in himself and says the empty stands would not prevent his game.
Stefanos went on to explain, “Right now, I am not thinking about the ATP Finals. I am concentrating on this week and then the next in Bercy. I feel like these are tournaments where I can do better this year and have a better version on the court, so I am glad to be here. Glad we can play these tournaments given the current state of the world.”
