Australian Tennis Pro Ashleigh Barty returned to tennis in 2016 followed by more than one year of hiatus. After the comeback, she won several titles in the WTA tours especially maiden Grand slam at 2019 French Open and WTA tour finals in Shenzhen. However, World No.01 says now she looks forward to winning a crown at SW19.
She said in an interview with ABC broadcaster, “In short, I think I needed just to find myself. I felt like I got twisted and maybe a little bit lost along the way in the first part of my career.” Moreover, Ash Barty took a break from tennis after the 2014 US Open, and until 2016 comeback. She also played Cricket in the Australian domestic tournaments between the rest period.

Ash Barty has a long time dream to becomes a winner at Wimbledon. However, this year’s Championships canceled due to ongoing pandemic. Notably, She won the Girls’ Singles tennis title at the 2011 Wimbledon, where defeated Russian player Irina Khromacheva in the finals.
Ash Barty also said, “It took a long time for me to say that out loud. It took a long time for me to have the courage to say that out loud, but that’s what I want. That’s what I want to work towards.”
“Being able to win junior Wimbledon was really special, but it just gave me a taste of what it’s really like. We just have to play our part and do the right thing. And then hope we get an opportunity sometime in the year to get back to some kind of normal.” Aussie concluded.
Moreover, Aussie recently made an announcement over her participation in the US Open 2020. Barty said that she will not play this year’s majors event in New York due to travel concerns.
