2021 WTA season curtain rising tournament Abu Dhabi Women’s Tennis Open’s matches have been finishing quicker as like its courts. However, the 4th seed Aryna Sabalenka and 15-seed Ons Jabeur will lock horns for a quarterfinal place.
In recent days, Belarusian and Tunisian are among the stunning performers in the Women’s tennis circuit.
Before reaching the third round of the new WTA event, World No.10 Aryna Sabalenka overcame Polona Hercog of Slovenia and Ajla Tomljanović of Australia in the straight sets.
On the other hand, World No.31 Ons Jabeur has reserved her seat after steering past Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia without losing a set and Kateryna Bondarenko of Ukraine in three sets.
Aryna Sabalenka vs Ons Jabeur: Head-To-Head
They have faced each other once in the WTA tour. Ons Jabeur bested Aryna Sabalenka in the three sets at the 2020 French Open’s third round.
“In Roland Garros, it was a really tricky match. I’m just going to respect her game, stay calm, and just work for every point. She’s a tricky player. It’s going to be hard. I’m ready for the long rallies, and I’m ready for the hard work to get this win,” Aryna Sabalenka said of Tunisian.
“Sabalenka is Sabalenka. It’s fun to play her, to be honest. Last time it was a lot of fun. It’s going to be a really nice show, and I’m going to tell everybody to turn on the TV. It’s going to be a really great match with both of us screaming from the other sides, both of us hitting winners,” Jabeur praised Belarusian.
“It’s going to be an amazing match. I love these kinds of matches, l love this kind of challenge. I like Sabalenka. I like how she plays. I like how she reacts to the court. It’s going to be fun,” Tunisian added.
Aryna Sabalenka vs Ons Jabeur: Prediction
The 22-years-old Belarusian is one of the tallest players in the WTA Tour. As a result, Sabalenka can hit powerful serves, which would help her lead and put pressure on Ons Jabeur.
On the other hand, 26-years-old Tunisian is known for her crazy shots. Ons Jebeur can also hit various shots, especially drop shots, which might be a weapon against an aggressive baseliner Aryna Sabalenka.
Match Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka to win in three sets.
