At the Italian Open, No.7 seed Sabalenka booked her third round seat following a straight-sets(7-5, 6-1) win over Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo. She has a win-loss record of 25-6 this season.

Later on, American teenager made WTA 1000 tournament’s quarter-final debut at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships. Her tremendous efforts have been rewarded with a rise to a career-high No.35 in the WTA ranking table.

Coco Gauff has proved herself on the gravel surface in Rome as well. The rising star has advanced to the Round of 16, following back-to-back three-set victories over Kazakh Yulia Putintseva(7-5, 4-6, 6-4) and No.17 seed Maria Sakkari(6-1, 1-6, 6-1).
