“Simona Halep Must Be Appreciated Much More”, says Romanian Football Manager Cosmin Olaroiu

Having two Grand Slam titles, the former World No.1 Simona Halep is one of the greatest athletes in Romania sports history. However, her countryman and famous football club manager Cosmin Olaroiu admits Wimbledon Reigning deserves more recognition than what she receives now. 

The 51-years-old Cosmin Olaroiu played for more than eight clubs and has been trained nine clubs. He is now the Chinese football club Jiangsu Suning’s manager, which recently won the Super League title for the first time.

On the other hand, a woman from Constanta made her nation proud on several International stages since at a young age. Halep won 22 WTA singles titles so far and took her country Grand Slam title from the 2018 French Open and 2019 Wimbledon. And also, she has been ranked 64 weeks as a World No.1 player by WTA.

“In my opinion, from the outside, Halep must be appreciated much more. I really appreciate it because I know what it means to be Romanian and get there,” Cosmin Olaroiu said in a recent interview.

However, looking forward to a great season in 2021, Simona Halep will kick start her WTA tour at the Australian Open swing, which begins on 31st January in Melbourne Park after 14 days of quarantine.
