Former World No.6 Carla Suarez Navarro announced that she had completed chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma and was cured of her cancer.
Last year, Suarez Navarro withdrew from the US Open due to health concerns. Later, Spaniard revealed that she was diagnosed with early-stage curable Hodgkin lymphoma, a kind of cancer. And She said she would need to go through six months of Chemotherapy.
Following several intermediate updates, Carla eventually wrote “Another step forward” on her social media pages on Thursday.
The Spaniard continued, “Today, I finished my treatment and overcame Hodgkin lymphoma. Thanks to all for your warm messages. Every word of support gave me strength during the past few months—all my gratitude to healthcare professionals who take care of us every day. I’m CURED!
The report says that Carla Suarez Navarro has planned to compete at the upcoming 2021 French Open. She is now ranked No.94 in the world. Thus, she has direct entry into the Roland Garros main draw. This year’s Paris major event runs from 24th May to 13th June.
