Tennis governing bodies have been looking for the venues and organizers for the resumption of the tennis tours with an eagle eye. However, In the middle of the pandemic, the Czech Tennis Federation will hold the WTA Tournament along with 2000 tennis fans in Prague.
Top Czech tennis players World No.03 Karolina Pliskova and World No.12 Petra Kvitova will be the major contestants in the refreshment tournament.
As per the revised tennis schedule, the majority of small tennis tournaments get a lifeline. Star players from Europe somehow decided to play small tournaments to return to tennis. Consequently, one of the important tournaments in the Czech Republic, Prague Open. It has scheduled to begin from 10th August at Sparta Clay Courts in Prague.
“The WTA was looking for venues and organizers to quickly prepare for a quality tournament in these strange times. We took advantage of the references we had obtained from the first tournament of the post coronavirus era, which took place on the Sparta courts and turned out to be a success”, said Ivo Kaderka, Director of the Czech Tennis Federation.
Tournament Director David Trunda says, “We are already in talks with the top Czech players. We will prepare mobile stands with a capacity of 2000 seats”. At the same time, the Coronavirus cases are gradually increasing in the Czech Republic after lockdown removal.
Rivalry Record: Karolina Pliskova Vs Petra Kvitova
The Czech Top tennis players Karolina Pliskova and Petra Kvitova have played each other four times. Two time Grand Slam Champion Kvitova has taken lead in the rivalry with 3-1.
